Windward Oaks
We are always very excited when clients see past what is available in catalogues and design books and allow for the creation of work which speaks to their personal sense of style or works with the design aesthetic of the over-all project.
"Windwards Oaks" allowed for both. The games room doors were designed to pick up on the clients collection of antique pinball machines, while the transom windows in the sunroom and glass for the french pocket doors leading from the billiard room to the sunroom were inspired by the owners passion for gardening and the family rose bush that has been propagated over generations.
Working with Michael Cullin, the designer of the project, Michael Knight, the building contractor and the owners was a joy. Communication was always clear and the pride shown by all involved in this project culminated in one of the most beautiful homes we have been privileged to be a part of.
This project is the feature home in the Feb/March 2012 issue of Victoria Home and Living Magazine. It was the judges' favourite and the people's choice at the 2011 CARE Awards (Construction Achievements and Renovations of Excellence), attended by 300 builders trades and suppliers.Windward Oaks won seven Gold CARE Awards including Project of the Year - Single Family, in addition to the People's Choice Award.
